Going to Northumberland for a holiday can be one of the best choices for someone who likes nature, because there is so much natural beauty in that particular area. There are many famous gardens there, as well, such as those that are found in Northumberland National Park. These gardens are breathtaking places to visit, and there are quite a few of them, so you'll have plenty to see. Alnwick Gardens is one of the popular choices, with a tree house where you can dine, the rose garden, an ornamental garden, the grand cascade, a garden for bamboo, the poison garden and the serpent garden. There are other great places to look at, too, like Belsay Hall and its thirty acres of both informal and formal gardens. There are some with their own microclimates, and you can find Rhododendrons blooming even during February. A carpet of snowdrops on the Cragwood walk in February makes that a very interesting place to be, and it's popular with locals and tourists alike. Cragside Country Park, Chillingham Castle, and Chesters Walled Garden are great spots, as well, as are the Red Cross Open Gardens, Wallington Gardens, and Kirkley Hall Gardens. The best thing about these is that, although they are all gardens, they are all very different from one another.

You won't be bored spending a day or even several days examining everything that they have to offer. If you take Northumberland holidays, be prepared to enjoy nature at its finest no matter what time of year you go. Naturally, there is a tourist season when there is a bit more to see, but even in the off season many of these gardens are still operational and still have blooming plants. You won't be going to look at a lot of sticks if you go in winter, since there are plants that bloom all year round and plants that enjoy the winter months much more than those of summer. Whether you're coming by yourself, with a special someone, or with friends and family members, the gardens that are available to you in Northumberland while you're there on your holidays can give you memories that will last a lifetime. It is difficult for many people to find something more beautiful than nature, so keeping in mind what you want to do on your holiday and what gardens will have the best plants to enjoy during your time there can make for a much more enjoyable time for everyone involved.
